The United States Postal Service is issuing two new stamps in January 2020, and one will feature Texas, according to a USPS release.

The rich and colorful curved canyons of Big Bend National Park will grace priority mail stamps coming on Jan. 20.

“The Postal Service celebrates the beauty of the Big Bend region in West Texas, where river, mountain and desert ecosystems coexist in its vast expanses,” the USPS release stated. “The stamp art depicts the Rio Grande flowing between the sheer limestone cliffs of Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park.”

Big Bend National Park, located in the southwest corner of Texas in the Chihuahua desert, contains the Chisos Mountains as a part of Mexico’s Sierra Madre mountain range. The park incorporates over 1,200 square miles and sees as many as 350,000 visitors per year.

Art director of the USPS Greg Breeding designed the stamp, which contains original art by Ohio illustrator Dan Cosgrove.

The other design featured on stamps is located far north of Texas, with Michigan’s Grand Island ice caves.

Stamps may be purchased by calling The Big Bend National Park.
