Sulphur Springs Independent School District released a statement Wednesday morning announcing a student at Sulphur Springs Middle School has tested positive for COVID-19 and was on that campus Monday. This brings the number of cases of COVID-19 at SSISD to four adults and seven students for a total of 11 cases.

Students at Sulphur Springs High School tested positive for COVID-19. According to previous statements from SSISD, three students were on campus during the first week of the 2020-2021 school year and the others during the week of Sept. 7.

A bus driver was confirmed to have COVID-19, a statement from the school district read Wednesday, Sept. 9. The driver was on a bus the week of Sept. 1.

Announced the morning of Sept. 10 were a student at Travis Primary and a teacher at Sulphur Springs Elementary School who tested positive for COVID-19. They were in attendance at their respective schools during the week of Sept. 7.

On Friday, Sept. 11, SSISD announced two students at Bowie Primary were confirmed with COVID-19 and were on that campus Sept. 1-4.

SSISD reported Monday morning that two teachers at SSMS were diagnosed with coronavirus, according to a statement. 

Due to privacy requirements, SSISD will not be releasing the names of the individuals or details that may identify students, the district stated in multiple releases.
