It seems like the Sulphur Springs band keeps a very busy schedule.
The high school band, which took fourth place in the State UIL Class 4A marching contest in San Antonio continues to play to rave reviews.
Not only will the band be marching in the Christmas parade, but they will be performing at Heritage Park on Saturday in the Chapel. The group will be honored on Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. with a proclamation from the Hopkins County Commissioner's Court.
'“We have felt so much support from the community for this fall’s State run for the band. It was a complete surprise when we were notified of the County’s desire to recognize the students’ accomplishment through a proclamation. A big thank you to Judge Newsom and all involved. This will mean so much to these kids!” said Spencer Emmert, Director of Sulphur Springs bands.
Some of the upcoming performances include:
• Dec 2: Band at Christmas Parade 7 p.m.
• Dec 3: HS Choir performs at Heritage Park 5:30 p.m.
• Wildcat Jazz Band performs at Heritage Park 7 p.m. -- Chapel
