SSHS Choir competes at All Region contest

Sulphur Springs High School choir competed in All Region contest on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Texas High School. Students learned five challenging pieces of music chosen by Texas Music Educators Association for this contest. Their audition consisted of singing prepared music and sight singing. Eleven students advanced to Pre-Area to be held in December. Those students are ninth grader Danielle Verlander; tenth graders Aidyn Rogers, Jakobe Yarbrough and Rose Marie Oyad; 11th graders Bailey Early, Freddy Botello and Haylee Fletcher; and 12th graders Alex Walker, Layla McCarley, Meredith Hooten and Hope Williams. They will give a free performance at an All Region concert in Mount Pleasant at 5 p.m. Nov. 9.
