STATE WINNERS— Sulphur Springs seniors choir members Solar Driver (left) and Lausen Ost achieved first division (superior) scores in the Texas State Solo and Ensemble contest held May 29. Both students received gold medals and received feedback from judges that complimented their hard work, preparation and exceptional musicality. Sulphur Springs students who earned second division ratings were: Colbie Glenn, Sallee Spraggins, Mikel Godwin, Reese Offutt, Ashland Hooten, Daisy Garcia-Hidalgo, Axel Garcia, Celeste McCoy and Danielle Verlander. 'The choir program would like to thank our accompanists. We are grateful for Chad Houk, Melissa Bilyeu, and Mary Ellen Kirkland who lend their collaborative talents and experience to help elevate our singers’ performances,' said choir teacher Elizabeth Cole.
