Almost 15 total grams seized, police say

Sulphur Springs Special Crimes, with an assist from Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, have taken in three individuals they claim were in possession of a net of almost 15 grams of methamphetamine, according to reports. 

Dana Leann Goldsmith, 48, of Sulphur Springs, Brandon Michael Petrea, 29, of Sulphur Springs, and Ashley Renea Young, 23, of Sulphur Springs, were all arrested at approximately 9:10 a.m. at an apartment at 1531 Industrial Drive East on Wednesday, according to reports. 

The arrest was the conclusion of a Special Crimes Unit investigation, according to reports. 

“During this investigation SCU investigators purchased over ten grams of methamphetamine from occupants of the residence during four seperate undercover buys,” the report said. 

“During the search warrant… SCU recovered approximately 4.7 grams of methamphetamine hidden inside a pillowcase in the bedroom,” the report further stated. 

All three arrested parties were charged with possession of a schedule one controlled substance between four and 200 grams, according to Sheriff’s records. 

Goldsmith was additionally charged with manufacture and delivery of a schedule one controlled substance between one and four grams. She also had outstanding warrants for no driver’s license third offense and no insurance, according to police. 

Goldsmith is being held at HCSO on a total of $90,000 bond for her two possession charges, according to Sheriff’s records. Petrea and Young are each being held at HCSO on $45,000 bonds, records say. 

Goldsmith has 36 previous charges dating back to 1989, according to HCSO records. Petrea has 25 previous charges dating back to 2008, according to HCSO records. Young has 10 previous charges dating back to 2013, according to HCSO records.
