The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office is now offering a reward regarding an alleged cattle theft, according to a release.

Eleven cows were taken from a ranch on I-30 West of Sulphur Springs between Aug. 14 and Aug. 16, according to Sheriff Lewis Tatum. The theft occurred sometime in the evening hours and Sunday, Aug. 16 in the evening hours, HCSO stated, and the stolen livestock are 450-pound heifers with purple ear tags in the left ear.

In addition, HCSO has linked the theft to two different instances of livestock theft in Winnsboro on July 30, according to lead investigator Corley Weatherford. In that case, four head of cattle marked with yellow back tags were stolen from Winnsboro Livestock and Dairy Auction. The animals were consigned to be sold the next day.
