School board holds first 2021 meeting

The Sulphur Springs ISD school board gathered Monday for the first regular meeting of the year.

At the meeting, the filing dates for the school board trustee election were announced, and are Jan. 13 to Feb. 12.

Trustees serve threeyear terms, and elections are held annually in May.

This year’s election will be held May 1.

Other business discussed at the meeting included the Head Start director’s report and financial report for December and the approval of new personnel; Sadie Evans as a pre-k aide at Douglass ECLC, Lyndsay Palmer as the culinary arts teacher at Sulphur Springs High School and Camri Price as a Special Education aide at Sulphur Springs High School.

The board also approved an application to TEA for a staff development waiver and the school board's fiveyear outcome goals.
