The following reports are based on logs documenting calls received by Hopkins County emergency communications staff from 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to 5:30 a.m. Friday.

Tuesday

11:23 a.m.: A Pickton man reported stakes were “missing from his yard he was going to buy.” Dispatch noted also the man was “very upset.”

12:41 p.m.: A resident of Rice County, Minn. reported that someone had scammed him out of money, which had been sent to a County Road 1436 address in Sulphur Springs.

1:43 p.m.: A leather saddle with a 15-inch high back with a “JK” brand on it was reported missing and possibly stolen from an FM 2285 Sulphur Springs address.

3:05 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported the possible theft of a lawnmower from his daughter’s property.

3:34 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman reported a foreman was assaulted by an employee at a location north of Interstate 30 in Sulphur Springs.

3:41 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle, a car that was parked near the caller and wasn’t responding when she honked, was reported on State Highway 67 west in Brashear.

6:03 p.m.: A Cumby woman reported a truck had pulled into her driveway, parked, then left.

6:03 p.m.: On State Highway 154 south in Sulphur Springs, a Sulphur Springs woman reported her neighbors were shooting fireworks and irritating her.

7:14 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported his two stepchildren had run away from their CR 2436 property at midnight Monday morning.

7:34 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported he found a little boy at his doorstep in the 700 block of Hodge Street.

9:50 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman requested someone be escorted off her Shannon Road property.

10:34 p.m.: The possible burglary of a Miller Grove residence was called in.

11:15 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported a woman was being sexually assaulted in a field.

11:56 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs resident wanted to speak to an officer; they wanted someone to leave her sister’s house.

Wednesday

6:44 a.m.: A Brashear man reported that the construction zone on Interstate 30 eastbound was either confusing or there were orange traffic cones out of place.

7:51 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported he fell asleep, then woke up and claimed someone had gone through his stuff.

2:21 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman wanted to speak to an officer. She wanted a note that a woman was impersonating her by using her name.

5:01 p.m.: The possible theft of a lawnmower was reported by a Birthright man.

7:30 p.m.: A Como man reported hearing gunshots by his CR 2428 property.

8:26 p.m.: A Dike man reported a possible burglary after he claimed to have seen two guys run out of his garage and head toward FM 69.

11:01 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman reported her daughter was “being threatened by Instagram.”

Thursday

12:50 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported the possible theft of a car on Fuller Street.

10:52 a.m.: A Saltillo woman reported her father missing after he left the residence an hour prior.

12:22 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man requested a welfare check, reporting a woman walking down the road.

6:46 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported someone was fishing off the South Sulphur bridge.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 688 non-emergency calls, 170 calls for service and 125 emergency calls. Officers filed four offenses and conducted two inmate transports between facilities, one funeral escort, 59 traffic stops and nine special patrols. Nine people were booked into and 11 released from county jail, which held 197 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Friday.
