The following reports are based on logs documenting calls received by Hopkins County emergency communications staff from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Friday

10:03 a.m.: A Cumby woman reported a neighbor on County Road 4131 was not respecting her property. She said the neighbor was placing things on the fence and also had “bad dogs.”

10:26 a.m.: A woman called 911 to request a motorist assist on County Road 1146 at State Highway 19 south. She needed help changing a tire. Call logs note there was a male voice in the background calling the woman vulgar names.

10:51 a.m.: A woman wanted to speak to an officer. Her grandson was going to meet up with a male and she wanted to know if the subject “was nice.”

11:25 a.m.: A woman reported a gold cross necklace and earrings were stolen from a residence on Gaskins Street in Como.

11:55 a.m.: Someone at the Como City Hall reported a disturbance on Smith Street. A couple were fist-fighting and throwing items at each other.

12:05 p.m.: A man reported a HAZMAT spill on Interstate 30 east at mile marker 138 in Saltillo. He ran over debris in the roadway which punctured his full gas tank.

7:14 p.m.: A Como woman reported finding a security camera that did not belong to her on Gaskins Street.

11:51 p.m.: A man reported a vehicle keeps sitting in front of his County Road 1439 residence with headlights off.

11:55 p.m.: A Pickton man reported someone knocking on a window at his residence on FM 269 south.

Saturday

10:10 a.m.: A woman reported her husband had moved out of their residence on State Highway 154 south but refused to give the keys back.

10:23 a.m.: A man reported a yard sale was blocking the road on County Road 2310.

2:15 p.m.: A woman called 911 to report her daughter’s boyfriend had thrown her daughter on the ground. The daughter was unable to breathe and the subject reportedly had a pistol.

Sunday

8:36 a.m.: A woman called 911 to report a disturbance on West Main Street in Como. A man and woman were having a verbal disturbance.

12:06 p.m.: A woman called 911 to report her ex-husband showed up on her property in violation of a criminal trespass order.

2:21 p.m.: A hospital employee reported a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his leg.

Monday

8:33 a.m.: A man reported he was trying to evict tenants from a rental house after they would not allow him to enter the residence.

1:32 p.m.: A Pickton man reported seeing rotating air on County Road 2391.

3:36 p.m.: A Saltillo man reported the grandmother of his children keeps harassing him.

6:11 p.m.: A caller reported the landlord keeps coming into the County Road 1186 residence and bringing other people in as well.

6:43 p.m.: A man reported a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of Merrell Drive with multiple people getting out of the vehicle.

Tuesday

4:52 a.m.: A Como man reported his girlfriend took the keys to his vehicle.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 587 non-emergency calls, 237 calls for service and 168 emergency calls. For the period from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers issued eight citations and conducted two inmate transports between facilities, two funeral escorts, 67 traffic stops and 43 special patrols. Ten people were booked into and 11 released from county jail, which held 152 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
