The following reports are based on logs documenting calls received by Hopkins County emergency communications staff from 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to 5:30 a.m. Friday.
Tuesday
8:42 a.m.: A man reported a renter would not leave a residence on County Road 1190.
11:03 a.m.: A man reported he thought someone had stolen his identity.
7:52 p.m.: A woman reported her boyfriend would not let her in the house to get her stuff.
10:02 p.m.: A woman reported a man was looking into a house on Texas Street with a light when no one should be there.
11:10 p.m.: A woman reported hearing someone in her barn on County Road 2307.
Wednesday
1:19 a.m.: A caller called 911 to report hearing sounds in the living room and thought someone was in the house on County Road 3569.
2:58 a.m.: A man reported someone stole a pack of cigarettes and a cup from his wife’s room at a location in the 700 block of Interstate 30 east.
12:46 p.m.: A woman reported a male driver exhibiting road rage was following and taking photos of her on State Highway 11 east at Elm Ridge.
1:25 p.m.: A man reported someone was looking in people’s mail on County Road 1174.
4:33 p.m.: A man reported someone hit their mailbox on the Interstate 30 westbound service road on May 16.
4:38 p.m.: A man reported another driver ran a vehicle off the road on the eastbound Interstate 30 service road near a mobile home dealership. The vehicle was not damaged.
5:31 p.m.: A man reported a verbal disturbance at a residence on Quinn Street in Como. He said a neighbor’s son was digging in his yard.
10:13 p.m.: A woman reported seeing a person walking with a bike with no reflectors on Interstate 30 west at mile marker 118.
Thursday
4 a.m.: Deputies investigated suspicious activity on County Road 4761. A subject was discovered laying on the side of the road. Deputies gave him a courtesy ride.
5:45 a.m.: A woman called 911 to report she was trying to leave a residence on State Highway 19 south, but a male subject would not allow her to get her belongings. The man was arrested on a warrant.
10 a.m.: A man called to ask if he could sell items on a rental property he owns.
11:45 a.m.: A man called to report there were kids outside his residence on State Highway 154 south who stare and “pop rude remarks.”
3:38 p.m.: Deputies located a stolen vehicle on a car hauler on Interstate 30 east in Royse City.
4:38 p.m.: A Como woman reported a neighbor threatened to beat her child. She also said the neighbor often bullies the child. The parties were separated.
Hopkins County communications operators answered 790 non-emergency calls, 129 calls for service and 65 emergency calls. For the period from 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to 5:30 a.m. Friday, officers filed seven offenses, issued nine citations and conducted two inmate transports between facilities, one funeral escort, 73 traffic stops and 30 special patrols. Thirty-six people were booked into and 21 released from county jail, which held 152 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Friday.
