The following reports are based on logs documenting calls received by Hopkins County emergency communications staff from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Friday

1:02 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report a terroristic threat, claiming that a man at his work was making threats to stab him.

10:44 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report a welfare concern, claiming that the driver of an 18 wheeler on Interstate 30 was passed out. A man called to report the same incident at 10:44 a.m., stating that the driver was slumped over and cut across traffic.

11:41 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called wanting to speak to an officer, claiming he saw his father-in-law’s stolen trailer at another residence.

11:54 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report a disturbance, claiming that the gave her neighbor a key to her house and “will not let her in now.”

1:58 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called for a motorist assist, claiming her vehicle had broken down and was possibly out of gas.

2:13 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported a disturbance on Country Road 1176, claiming someone was threatening and “attempting to harm others in the house.”

3:30 p.m.: A Cumby man called to report a reckless driver who was on the phone and transporting an oversized load with a large, yellow item sticking out both sides.

3:56 p.m.: A Como man called wanting to speak to an officer, claiming a vehicle was driving too fast passed his house and wanted to know who it was.

4:06 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report that her boyfriend hit her and broke her glasses.

8:44 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report a large item in the roadway in the right lane on Interstate 30.

9:07 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report several four-wheelers were out on County Road 4716.

10:21 p.m.: A Brashear man called to report a party going on with a large gathering; he was concerned about the virus.

10:23 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report a physical altercation, claiming that his stepson hit him with a metal flashlight.

11:09 p.m.: A female caller wanted to report that a lady was taking pictures of her and her boyfriend at an I-30 restaurant.

Saturday

2 a.m.: A Dike woman called to report her husband had gone and hadn’t returned home.

8:36 a.m.: A Cumby man called to report a trucker had parked over the line at the rest area off Interstate 30 in Cumby and that he had hit the semi while attempting to pass. The man called back at 8:44 a.m. to ask if he could do the crash report over the phone.

8:58 a.m.: A manager at a Cumby convenience store called to report an abandoned vehicle on private property had been there for “a few days.”

9:44 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called for a motorist assist on Interstate 30 in Brinker. She claimed the vehicle was out of gas and that she had kids in the car.

10:53 a.m.: A Winnsboro woman called to report that her mother was accusing the complainant of stealing the woman’s son’s money and threatened to beat up the complainant.

11:18 a.m.: A Cumby woman called to report that her boyfriend had yanked her out of a vehicle, then picked her back up and took her home.

2:25 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report that an employee set off an alarm at a business on North Hillcrest Drive in Sulphur Springs and that she couldn’t make contact with the security company.

3:07 p.m.: A woman called to report that she needed to speak with an officer to make a report at the Sulphur Springs Police Department but that the doors were locked.

3:15 p.m.: A Como man called wanting to speak with an officer, claiming that his daughter sent texts the night before but would not answer the phone when called.

7:37 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report a guy outside, barbecuing and drinking; he thought it could turn into a disturbance.

8:59 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report a male walking in the middle of the road toward State Highway 11 east. A female caller at the same address called at 9:01 to report the same man.

9:57 p.m.: A Saltillo woman called twice to report that a neighbor’s house was on fire. She called back at 10:04 p.m. to report that she no longer could see flames.

10:09 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report that he had been assaulted and that the subject was no longer at the location but driving to the hospital.

Sunday

8:24 a.m.: Someone at the water treatment plant in Sulphur Springs called to report that a large wire cage had fallen off a truck and was in the roadway. The owner handled the matter.

10:04 a.m.: A Cumby man called to report that a trailer with a welder and air compressor were missing from a barn on a Country Road 1126, Miller Grove property.

12:23 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report that he saw was appeared to be a wrecked vehicle in the ditch on CR 2308 and nobody was around. 12:34 p.m.: A Sulphur

12:34 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report that three motorcycles went in-between him and a semi-trailer that was pulled off the roadway on Interstate 30 west.

12:47 p.m.: A Pickton man called to report that someone was harassing his daughter and other kids and “being creepy.”

2:42 p.m.: A Saltillo woman called from a vehicle while in Sulphur Springs to report that her boyfriend had beat her up and said it would be worse when they got home. 3:32 p.m.: Multiple

3:32 p.m.: Multiple callers reported a small grass fire in Miller Grove on FM 1567 west at 3:32 p.m., 3:33 p.m. and 3:34 p.m.

3:37 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report an older male in a red shirt was on Airport Road in Sulphur Springs, laying in the grass on the side of the road.

4:03 p.m.: A Fort Worth man called to report that his ex-girlfriend was stalking him.

8:46 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report that his worker’s car had been stolen within the previous hour.

8:49 p.m.: A Cumby man called to speak to an officer, stating he had questions about eviction.

9:51 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report that someone who did not live there was in an apartment, tearing it up.

10:23 p.m.: A Saltillo man called to report that his stepdaughter was posting stuff on Facebook.

10:24 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report a white, four-door car was parked front of his house.

Monday

12:26 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report that someone was spraying his neighbor’s pasture and it was getting on his garden. 4:23 p.m.: A Sulphur

4:23 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report the possible theft of his wallet at a SH 154 restaurant.

4:56 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report a juvenile who was tressing on a neighbor’s property.

6:45 p.m.: Multiple calls were made from different people at 6:45 p.m., four times at 6:49 p.m., 6:50 p.m., 6:52 p.m. and 6:54 p.m., reporting a small grass fire near Interstate 30 in between the ditch and the service road in Sulphur Springs.

8:18 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to request a welfare check, as he had not spoken with his friend for two weeks.

8:50 p.m.: A Como man called to report a possible burglary of his home, claiming he was not there and could see people in his house and two vehicles on camera.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 830 non-emergency calls, 194 calls for service and 146 emergency calls. Officers filed nine offenses, conducted 59 traffic stops and two funeral escorts, and established six special patrols. Eleven people were booked into and 30 released from county jail, which held 169 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
