The following reports are based on logs documenting calls received by Hopkins County emergency communications staff from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Friday:

8:21 p.m.: A woman called 911 for assistance after her 1-year-old child locked herself in a car on State Highway 154 south.

10:12 p.m.: A woman reported someone ran over her mailbox on FM 2653 south in Cumby.

Saturday

12:08 a.m.: An employee in the emergency department at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital-Sulphur Springs reported a patient left the hospital with an IV still in her arm.

12:20 a.m.: A woman called 911 to report juveniles were banging on her window and door, then took off running.

7:18 a.m.: A Cumby woman called to report her nephew got his car windows tinted and she wanted an officer to check them. Cumby PD handled the matter.

6:33 p.m.: A man called to report someone he doesn’t know took out a life insurance policy on him.

7:06 p.m.: A woman reported cars were speeding down County Road 1174, and one driver ran her child off the road.

9:07 p.m.: A woman called 911 to report a couple of her neighbors keep following her kids on FM 71 east in Birthright. She called back at 11:36 p.m. to report two men were standing in the road cussing her husband and son.

10:17 p.m.: A woman reported her sister-in-law was intoxicated and sending threatening texts.

Sunday

12:25 p.m.: A man reported he thought his wife’s daughter stole a gun from the caller’s father-in-law’s residence in Saltillo.

2:10 p.m.: A woman called 911 to report a motor vehicle accident on West Shannon Road where a truck drove through a building. The woman said she thought the truck was leaking gas.

10:46 p.m.: A woman called 911 to report her husband had broken a window and was inside her residence arguing with her kids on CR 2560. The parties were separated.

Monday

6:41 a.m.: A woman reported that someone tried to break into her car near the 4000 block of FM 71 east in North Hopkins.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 749 non-emergency calls, 215 calls for service and 198 emergency calls. For the period from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers issued three citations, filed two offenses and conducted two inmate transports between facilities, one funeral escorts, 66 traffic stops and nine special patrols. Twenty-three people were booked into and 16 released from county jail, which held 197 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Monday, of which 30 were federal prisoners.
