Saturday

Police arrested a 42-year-old Sulphur Springs man after a pedestrian stop at Industrial Drive and Loop 301 found the man had an outstanding warrant for parent contributing to truancy first offense, according to reports.

8:20 a.m.: A 49-yearold Sulphur Springs man was arrested after a routine traffic stop in the 400 block of Gilmer Street resulted in the discovery of an outstanding warrant for cruelty to non-livestock animals, according to reports.

2:35 p.m.: Officers arrested a 24-year-old Sulphur Springs woman after responding to a disturbance to a residence in the 900 block of Barbara Street and finding the woman, who was present at the scene, had outstanding warrants for two counts of driving while license invalid, failure to maintain financial responsibility and two counts of driving with an unrestrained child younger than eight years of age, according to reports.

3:07 p.m.: Cumby police arrested a 31-year-old Lewisville man for failure to pay child support after a routine traffic stop near the 111 mile marker of Interstate 30 revealed he had an outstanding warrant, according to reports.

1:28 a.m.: Officers arrested a 28-year-old Sulphur Springs woman after a routine traffic stop at Jarbo and Cranford streets found she had outstanding warrants for two counts of failure to maintain financial responsibility, failure to appear and expired registration, according to reports.

1:36 a.m.: SSPD officers and HCSO deputies were called to the scene of a disturbance in the parking lot of Roma’s Italian Restaurant and arrested two Sulphur Springs men for charges of public intoxication, according to reports. A 28-year-old man and a 41-year-old man were allegedly “cursing and yelling” in the parking lot despite being “given several warnings to calm down,” reports read. The 28-year-old man was allegedly “yelling obscenities at other bystanders.” Both were taken to jail and later released, according to records.

7:26 a.m.: Police were dispatched to Walmart in relation to a reported theft and, when they arrived, were advised that the suspect had fled the scene, according to reports. They located the 28-year-old Sulphur Springs man, who allegedly had a $69 drill from the store in his vehicle. The man additionally had previous convictions for theft and was booked into jail on charges of theft less than $2,500 with two or more previous convictions, according to records.

9:17 a.m.: Officers arrested a 34-year-old Sulphur Springs woman when, after initiating a routine traffic stop, she allegedly failed to yield to the police cruiser, even after lights and sirens were illuminated, according to reports. After eventually coming to a stop at Jefferson Street and Loop 301, police found the woman had outstanding warrants for driving while license invalid with previous convictions, according to reports.

3:01 p.m.: Officers arrested a 23-year-old Commerce man on charges of possession of a schedule one controlled substance less than 1 gram, failure to identify a fugitive and violation of parole assault by family violence impeding breathing or circulation, according to reports.

2:35 a.m.: Deputies arrest a 31-year-old Odessa woman on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after a call about suspicious activity lead deputies to respond to the parking lot of a hotel in the 1500 block of Industrial Drive, according to reports. After conducting a traffic stop on the woman’s vehicle, deputies allegedly located a smoking pipe, rolling papers and needles for injection, reports read. The woman was taken to jail and later released, according to records.

8 a.m.: Deputies completed the transport of Quindalin Dewayne Gabriel, 34, of Dallas to HCSO jail from Dallas County jail on charges of burglary of a building, according to reports.

8:42 a.m.: A 33-yearold Sulphur Springs woman was served additional charges for tampering with evidence while in jail.

11:38 p.m.: Deputies arrested a 59-year-old Denton man after a routine traffic, according to reports. The man allegedly refused to let deputies search the vehicle, at which point K-9 deputy Chiv alerted to the vehicle, and human deputies performed a probable cause search, locating loose marijuana, marijuana wax and THC, reports read. The man was booked into jail on charges of possession of a schedule two controlled substance from 1 to 4 grams and was later released, according to records.

Saturday

Deputies arrested a 40-year-old Wylie woman after a routine traffic stop led to the alleged detection of a strong odor of marijuana allegedly emitting from the vehicle, according to reports. The driver of the vehicle allegedly admitted he smoked marijuana earlier in the day, and a probable cause search found a bottle containing suspected methamphetamine where the backseat passenger, the Wylie woman, was sitting. She was booked into jail on charges of possession of a schedule one controlled substance less than 1 gram, where she remains on a $5,000 bond, according to reports.

12:39 p.m.: Deputies arrested a 50-year-old Pickton man after a routine traffic stop at State Highway 11 and Farm Road 69 found the man had outstanding warrants for failure to maintain financial responsibility, driving while license invalid and expired operator’s license, according to records.

3:07 p.m.: Cumby police arrested a 31-year-old Lewisville man for failure to pay child support after a routine traffic stop near the 111 mile marker of Interstate 30 revealed he had an outstanding warrant, according to reports.

8:26 p.m.: An 18-yearold Sulphur Springs man turned himself in to the HCSO lobby on charges of violation of parole misdemeanor theft without incident, according to reports.

8:52 p.m.: Deputies arrested a 33-year-old North Richland Hills man after a routine traffic stop on State Highway 11 in Pickton found a strong odor of marijuana allegedly emitting from the vehicle, according to reports. The man allegedly admitted he smoked marijuana earlier in the day, and a probable cause search found approximately 2 ounces of marijuana in the vehicle, reports read. The man was booked into jail on charges of possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and later released, according to records.

Sunday

1:23 a.m.: DPS troopers arrested a 47-year-old Sulphur Springs woman on charges of driving while intoxicated second offense after a traffic stop at Industrial Drive and South Davis Street where the woman allegedly failed to stay in one lane, according to reports. When asked to exit the vehicle, the woman allegedly could not maintain her balance and failed standardized field sobriety tests, but refused a blood test. She was booked into jail and later released, according to records.

3:12 a.m.: Cumby police arrested a 38-year-old Texarkana man after a routine traffic stop at the 112 mile marker of Interstate 30 found outstanding warrants out of Bowie County for violation of patrol attempt of court, according to reports.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 514 non-emergency phone calls, 112 calls for service and 63 emergency calls. For the 72-hour period from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday, officers issued three citations, filed four offenses and conducted 13 special patrols, three funeral escorts and 72 traffic stops. Twenty-one people were booked into and 20 released from county jail, which held 157 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Monday.
