Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement and fire department activity from 5:30 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Wednesday included:

POLICE

Monday

7:30 p.m.: A 37-yearold Sulphur Springs woman was arrested during a traffic stop in the 300 block of Duckworth Street on a warrant for vaccination against rabies. No bond was set, and she was released from jail Tuesday, according to reports.

Monday

10:36 a.m.: A 55-yearold Sulphur Springs woman was arrested during a traffic stop on State Highway 67 near Clayton Homes on Hopkins County warrants for running a stop sign and failing to report an address change. No bond was set, and the woman remained in custody as of press time Wednesday, according to reports.

10:38 a.m.: A woman called 911 asking for responders to fix her phone.

1:28 p.m.: A 35-yearold Yantis woman was booked into the Hopkins County jail on a charge of abandoning or endangering a child with criminal negligence. Bond was set at $15,000, and she remained in jail as of press time Wednesday, according to reports.

3:52 p.m.: A 28-yearold Memphis, Tenn., woman was arrested during a DPS traffic stop on Interstate 30 at mile marker 133 on a charge of no driver’s license. The trooper was on routine patrol when he reportedly stopped the woman for speeding at 3:06 p.m. that day. He allegedly told her to park the vehicle and to not drive, advising that if she drove again she would be arrested for driving without a license. At 3:52 p.m., the trooper allegedly saw the woman driving again, in the left lane without passing. The trooper conducted a traffic stop and took the woman into custody. No bond was set, and the woman was released from jail Tuesday, according to reports.

3:54 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of criminal trespass at a property on Pioneer Highway. A woman reported a former employee showed up and was behaving in a hostile manner.

9:34 p.m.: Deputies cleared a hay bale from the roadway on FM 71 west near the county line in Emblem.

Tuesday

2 p.m.: Shannon Renae Doty, 38, of Richardson was arrested at the Plane State jail and transported to the Hopkins County jail on a bench warrant on a charge of burglary of a habitation. Bond was set at $25,000, and Doty remained in custody as of press time Wednesday, according to reports. 7:50 p.m.: Deputies re

7:50 p.m.: Deputies responded to two 911 calls reporting a disturbance or family violence at a County Road 2386 residence. A woman reported her husband was “acting wild with lots of screaming.” A second female reported her boyfriend’s dad was being aggressive.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 530 non-emergency phone calls, 96 calls for service and 59 emergency calls. For the period from 5:30 a.m. Monday to 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers filed four offenses, issued seven citations and conducted three inmate transfers between facilities, three special patrols and 39 traffic stops. Eleven people were booked into and 12 released from county jail, which held 158 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.
