The following reports are based on logs documenting calls received by Hopkins County emergency communications staff from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Friday

7:39 a.m.: A tree was reported as blocking the roadway at County Road 3340 in Sulphur Springs.

8:07 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported there were sparks coming from underneath an 18-wheeler on State Highway 19 in Sulphur Springs.

8:56 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported that two male subjects were on ATVs, damaging the roadway on CR 1100 in Sulphur Springs.

10:36 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called wanting to speak to an officer about her husband.

11:52 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report a male subject was not giving back a car, per a court order, at Cooper Lake State Park.

1:02 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report that someone had opened her packages and took items out of the packages on CR 2393.

1:35 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report that her son’s roommate would not giver her son a check.

8:05 p.m.: A Como woman called to report that a motorcycle was behind her residence.

8:21 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs resident called to report two males fighting on CR 2386.

8:27 p.m.: A Pickton woman called to report that her husband “has been mental about a month” and was throwing stuff everywhere.

Saturday

3:26 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report that she was home alone and someone was knocking on her door or window.

7:15 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report that someone stole his power line pole on CR 1442.

12:09 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report that he ran over a chair on Interstate 30 mile marker 119 in Sulphur Springs.

1:12 p.m.: A Dike man called to report people arguing while he was on the property on CR 3518.

2:03 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to reporter his sister-in-law was stealing water from a residence and lying.

3:16 p.m.: A Pickton man called to report a vehicle was on fire on CR 2400.

4:55 p.m.: A Pickton man called to report someone was knocking on his door.

5:18 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report that two motorcycles were racing on I-30 at mile marker 142 in Sulphur Springs.

5:18 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report someone was making threats by text.

8:38 p.m.: A Como man called to report a possible structure fire. A second called about a possible fire was logged at 8:40 p.m.

10:48 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman reported subjects riding four-wheelers were being driven slowly then parked at the driveway.

11:45 p.m.: A Saltillo woman called to report a single car got into it with a tree.

Sunday

2:28 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report that he could hear someone banging on the neighbors door and no one was supposed to be there.

3:26 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called because she thought someone was following her regarding information about a stolen boat.

3:51 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to report that his neighbors were drunk and discharging firearms on CR 1100.

10:55 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report a coworker’s wife was stalking her.

2:58 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report that a supposedly controlled burn on CR 1163 was out of control.

4:15 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report she thought there were people in back of a white van.

8:08 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report a two-door Ford was driving 10 miles per hour on CR 3344 and was failing at maintaining a single lane.

Monday

11:49 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported a verbal disturbance on CR 2421 in Sulphur Springs.

1:53 p.m.: A Dike woman reported that someone used her debit card.

4:11 p.m.: Sulphur Springs man called to report an old tenant was harassing him.

4:17 p.m.: A Saltillo woman reported that a vehicle was on fire and was catching a pasture on fire. Additional calls about the fire were made at 4:20 p.m. and 4:23 p.m. At 8:58 p.m., a Saltillo man called to report that the fire had flared up again.

5:14 p.m.: A Cumby man called to report he had found a baggie with a white substance in it and wanted to speak to an officer.

5:47 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported that a truck with a horse trailer was driving in the left lane on Interstate 30 and staying there.

7:15 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to request that an officer be present while she was exchanging money with another person.

Tuesday 3:48 a.m.: A Sulphur

3:48 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman claimed that her son was seeing things and wanted an officer to come out.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 943 non-emergency calls, 159 calls for service and 83 emergency calls. Officers filed six offenses and conducted 80 traffic stops and eight special patrols. Twenty-seven people were booked into and 26 released from county jail, which held 178 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
