The following reports are based on logs documenting calls received by Hopkins County emergency communications staff from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Friday

1:11 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported that someone tried to push through the gate two days prior.

1:37 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman reported that a man told her she had an appointment with Dish, but, in fact, she did not.

2:20: p.m.: A diesel spill was reported at a Sulphur Springs gas station.

7:21 p.m.: A Saltillo woman reported she was in a verbal argument with her son.

8:16 p.m.: A Cumby woman reported a man had been knocking at her door for 30 minutes.

10:40 p.m.: An anonymous Sulphur Springs caller reported that they heard a little girl screaming at the neighbors.

Saturday

1:25 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman reported the person who had bonded her out of jail kept telling her that he could send her back.

7:38 a.m.: Three calls received at 7:38 p.m. twice and again at 7:40 reported that BMW was on fire on Interstate 30 at mile marker 120 in Sulphur Springs.

10:24 a.m.: A Saltillo man called to say he wanted to report a theft that took place a few days prior.

10:38 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man on CR 4732 called to report that a trucker had knocked down tools and ripped the swimming pool that was on the property.

11:04 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report a white Lexus on FM 275 was taped and had a note on it that it would be picked up in 24 hours.

12:31 p.m.: A Cumby man reported that, in the last three weeks, a post hole digger, an auger and two chains had been stolen from a building on CR 4129.

2:47 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called to report lost plywood.

3:18 p.m.: A Como man reported that someone was discharging firearms in front of the house.

4:28 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman reported a neighbor was shooting and the bullets were hitting the house on I-30.

6:53 p.m.: A Como man called to say he had someone who knows who stole lights from him.

8:06 p.m.: A Pickton man reported he heard a large boom a few minutes before calling.

11:53 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported he saw someone laying on the shoulder of I-30 at mile marker 115 next to a truck with flashers on.

Sunday

2:21 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman reported loud music on the 300 block of South League Street.

11:40 a.m.: A Cumby man called to report a weed eater had been taken out of his garage. He called a second time at 7:36 to report the same possible theft.

2:32 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported that he had run out of gas on I-30 and needed an officer because the wrecker service would take too long.

3:47 p.m.: A Cumby woman reported three black cars “running” down I-30 going over 100 miles per hour.

5:35 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called wanting to speak to an officer because someone was faking a post for scamming and she was notified to delete the post and report it.

4:03 p.m.: A Sulphur Springs woman called twice, one minute apart, to report that one vehicle had hit another and that she was following the vehicle that had hit her on I-30.

8:45 p.m.: A Como woman reported that her ex-husband refused to return her son to her.

10:36 p.m.: A man sitting on the side of the road and going through bags on I-30 at mile marker 134 in Sulphur Springs was reported at 10:36 p.m. by a Sulphur Springs woman and again at the same time by a Sulphur Springs man, then again at 10:47 p.m. by a second Sulphur Springs man.

Monday

11:27 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man reported that rack bolts were lifted up on a railroad at SH 69 and CR 3504.

12:24 p.m.: A grass fire was reported twice on FM 1537 in Mahoney by a Sulphur Springs man. The second call at the same time was to clarify it was unattended and getting close to the house.

12:29 p.m.: Two calls logged at the same time reported a vehicle got into an accident with a telephone or electrical pole on FM 269 in Saltillo.

2:05 p.m.: A Como woman reported that her Valero credit card was used three times.

5:42 p.m.: A Saltillo man called wanting to speak to an officer. He wanted to report that the red truck at his neighbor’s house was gone.

7:28 p.m.: A Como woman reported that a father hit a mother and a father would not return a child.

9:37 p.m.: From the Dollar General parking lot in Birthright, a Sulphur Springs man reported a “guy pulled up beside him and tried getting in his truck.”

Tuesday

2:08 a.m.: A man on CR 4767 in Birthright called to report that his neighbors were always making noise late at night and revving their engines.

2:24 a.m.: A Sulphur Springs man called to re port that someone was in his yard and he was on his way home.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 1,102 non-emergency calls, 245 calls for service and 212 emergency calls. Officers filed five offenses, issued one citation and conducted three inmate transport between facilities, 68 traffic stops and one special patrol. Fourteen people were booked into and 18 released from county jail, which held 183 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
