Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement and fire department activity from 5:30 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Wednesday included:

POLICE

Tuesday

10:30 a.m.: Kevin Don Bearden, 39, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at his residence on a warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony. Bearden was known to have the active warrant and was taken into custody after being located. His bond was set at $100,000, and he remained in custody as of press time, according to arrest and jail reports.

Monday

8:15 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a robbery on FM 269 south in Como. A subject reported being robbed at gunpoint.

11:03 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of criminal trespass at a residence on County Road 4779. A man reported his wife was on his property, and he did not want her there. A criminal trespass warning was issued.

5:12 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of theft on County Road 2394 at FM 3019. A man reported seeing a larger man stealing everyone’s mail.

10:46 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance or family violence at a residence on Smith Street in Como. A woman reported she was attempting to leave with a child and a dog, but her husband would not let her leave. The parties were separated.

Tuesday

12:21 a.m.: Deputies received a report of a suspicious vehicle on State Highway 154 at County Road 1188. A caller reported a vehicle parked on the side of the road with someone passed out inside.

12:29 a.m.: Cumby PD and deputies responded to a report of a disturbance or family violence at a residence on Paris Street in Cumby. A woman reported two roommates were fighting in the living room.

10:02 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a missing person in Como. A man reported his employee had been missing for 48 hours and he was concerned.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 492 non-emergency phone calls, 120 calls for service and 70 emergency calls. For the period from 5:30 a.m. Monday to 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers issued five citations, filed one offense and conducted one inmate transport between facilities, one funeral escort, one special patrol and 39 traffic stops. Nine people were booked into and 13 released from county jail, which held 143 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.
