Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement and fire department activity from 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Friday included:

SHERIFF

Wednesday

6:56 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of criminal trespass at a property on Heritage Parkway. A woman wanted an officer to issue a criminal trespass warning to an employee being fired who was being aggressive. The warning was issued.

8:48 a.m.: Deputies received a report of possible child abuse from the Sulphur Bluff school. An incident report was issued.

5:30 p.m.: Alejandro Gamez, 29, of Longview was arrested at a Sulphur Springs apartment complex on warrants for failing to maintain financial responsibility, no driver’s license, possession of less than 1 gram of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance and bail jumping and failure to appear. The man was reportedly observed walking down the steps and was taken into custody. Bond was set at $45,000, and he remained in custody as of press time, according to arrest and jail reports.

9:50 p.m.: A 19-year-old Sulphur Springs woman turned herself in at the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office on two traffic warrants. She was released Thursday, according to arrest and jail reports.

Thursday

9:31 a.m.: Carlos Alberto Valle, 24, of Como was arrested at the Hopkins County Courthouse following a bond revocation hearing on a July charge of assault on a member of family or household with intent to impede breathing or circulation. Bond was set at $150,000, and Valle remained in custody as of press time Friday, according to arrest and jail reports.

1:24 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of theft or possible theft at a property on County Road 1100. A man reported roofing material was missing. An incident report was filed.

1:43 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of burglary of a residence on Road 4583 in Dike. A woman reported her mother’s house was broken into. An incident report was filed.

8:32 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance or family violence at a residence on County Road 2310 in Como. A woman reported her brother was in a physical altercation with their parents.

Friday

2:06 a.m.: A 30-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested during a traffic stop at the intersection of College Street and Industrial Drive on a warrant for driving while license invalid. A records check revealed the active warrant. The man was released later that day, according to arrest and jail reports.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 467 non-emergency phone calls, 74 calls for service and 35 emergency calls. For the period from 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to 5:30 a.m. Friday, officers filed two offenses, issued one citation and conducted five inmate transports between facilities, five special patrols and 65 traffic stops. Eight people were booked into and 18 released from county jail, which held 138 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Friday.
