Police are in search of a suspect in an aggravated robbery which took place last night at a gas station on main street, according to police.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. on January 12, police responded to the Valero at 1601 Main St. and Hillcrest in reference to an armed robbery, according to police chief Jason Ricketson.

The clerk described the man as an armed white man approximately 6 foot 1 inch in height, wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and an orange and black camoflage face mask, Ricketson said.

The man entered the store with a firearm and demanded the money, Ricketson said. After receiving the money from the clerk, he then left on foot in an unknown direction, according to Ricketson. No additional details are available at this time, and police are attempting to collect surveillance images and/or video.

"It could have been a local person, but of course with the Interstate [30] nearby, you never know," Ricketson said.

Ricketson urges anyone with information to contact crimestoppers at 903-885-2020.
