The youth thespians of The Community Players performed for potential donors, members and sponsors Saturday during the troupe’s annual fundraising event.

Six kids performed three skits — including one original — for diners between musical performances by Jeb Brooks and Garrett McGraw.

While raising money through a silent auction, grab-bag donations, ticket sales, and membership and sponsorship opportunities, President Lyndie Mansfield announced the 2020 production season for performances to be held at Main Street Theatre, 227 Main St. in Sulphur Springs:

• Death by Chocolate — Feb. 27-March 8

• The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon and Law & Order: Fairy Tale Unit (youth productions) — March 26-April 4

• Barbecuing Hamlet — May 8-17

• Children’s Summer Workshop — TBA

• Twisted Tales of Poe — Sept. 11-20

• Sleepy Hollow: A Musical Tale — Oct. 16- 25

• A Christmas Carol: The Musical — Dec. 10-13

Tickets for each production will be announced closer to performance dates.

ADVANCE TICKET SALES

This year, theater-goers will see a few changes to the ticketing process.

Advance tickets will be $10 each and available up to the day before the performance.Tickets purchased on the day of the performance will be $12. No unpaid reservations will be accepted.

There will no longer be a service charge for patrons who pay with a credit card; however, patrons can still pay at the door. Otherwise, unclaimed seats may be resold.

“We’re trying to encourage early ticket sales,” said President Lyndie Mansfield. “We do have sell-out shows, and we can’t guarantee seats due to the limited seating. We want to make sure that if you really want to be there, we don’t have to turn you away.”

In previous years, the theater has taken unpaid reservations, but that is no longer the policy.

The box office will be open during the week prior to the show so tickets can be purchased without going online. Anyone who calls and leaves a message, someone will get back to you. Check the theater’s Facebook page for last-minute updates at www.facebook.com/mainsttheatre.

Seating opens 30 minutes before curtain. If an attendee requires wheelchair accommodation or other special arrangements, the theater asks to be provided with that information to set up accommodation ahead of time. Those requiring those accommodations should be at the theater at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the show.

For questions, call the theater a call at 903-885-0107 and leave a callback number or contact them via Facebook.
