The existing structure at the site of the future Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center on Oak Avenue in Sulphur Springs is undergoing demolition this week. Since the weather has changed from rainy to sunny, part of the building has been removed with work still to be done. “I was excited to see the equipment out there to knock down the old nursing home building,” said Executive Director Karon Weatherman, who said also that they are still taking donations for the building fund. They are hoping to build a 14,000-square-foot center but may have funds for only 10,000 square feet, she said. To donate to the Center’s building fund, call Weatherman at 903-885-8663.
