Yvonne Weir reported that the Weir family had their Christmas get-together on Christmas Eve.

“Mike was working, but we had the pleasure of having his mom come with Dacy. Destri and Eben came on Sunday and spent the night. Everly enjoyed the paper and everyone seemed happy with their gifts,” she said. “It was a beautiful day and we spent time outside. We shot a few fireworks before everyone left. Also, Sarah and Lucas visited on Sunday.”

Joyce Dodd also had good news: “Kanyen Paul Dodd announces that his mom, Melony Huffman. and his dad, Trenton Dodd, were beyond excited when he entered this world Monday night, Dec. 30, at 9:46 p.m., weighing in at 5 pounds and 11 ounces. He is 19 inches long and the best little end-of-year gift he could have given all of his family. Grandparents are Tina and Charlie Williams, Brad and Tanya Dodd, and Robert and Kristi Hooten. Great-grandparents are Clifford and Wynell Belz, William and Joyce Dodd, Darlinda Williams, Travis and Terisa Hooten, and John David and Jewel Jetton.”

Kenden Joslin turned 18 on Friday, Dec. 27 and was treated to a birthday meal at Red Lobster in Greenville that evening. Celebrating with him were his dad, Malcolm Joslin; and his friend, Melinda; his girlfriend, Emma Hall; and Chip and myself.

Our great-grandchildren, Dixie, Rylan, Brailon, and Slaiden, visited with us on Saturday, Dec. 28, before Dixie had to return to her home near Beaumont on Sunday.

Chip and I left after church and Sunday School on the 29th and went to Branson for a few days. We enjoyed the shows and sights at Silver Dollar City. They had decorated with more than six million lights! We saw Christmas shows on Monday and more shows on New Year’s Day.

We came back through Tulsa and celebrated a late Christmas with him on Thursday.

Tiffany Gilbert and Jaidyn Joslin, our daughter and great-granddaughter, celebrated the New Year with ice skating in Hot Springs.

We want to express our sympathy to the family of Rosemary Horn, wife of the late Elmer G. (Mutt) Horn. She passed away Sunday, Jan. 5. A graveside service was held at Nelta Cemetery on Wednesday, Jan. 8, under the direction of Murray-Orwosky funeral home. Please be in prayer for the family.

“We had a wonderful New Year’s Eve with the grands,” Yvette Williams said. “We took them to Embassy Suites in Frisco, and they loved it! They swam in the indoor pool, and we took the shuttle to Chuy’s for dinner. From our balcony, we watched the fireworks from two nearby towns. We made some great memories! Happy New Year!”

Our great-grandsons, Rylan, Brailon and Slaiden Joslin, came on Friday afternoon and spent the night with us. Their parents, Landon and Laiken Joslin, went to Frisco and enjoyed using a Christmas gift card for a delicious meal at Perry’s Steakhouse.

Grace Vaughn, Chip’s mother, had lunch with us on Sunday and stayed for the afternoon.
