Local schools return to classes
The return to class following the Christmas and New Year's holidays has begun in Hopkins County. Semesters got underway this week in the school districts of Sulphur Springs, Cumby, Saltillo, Como-Pickton, North Hopkins and Sulphur Bluff.
Students of Miller Grove ISD will return to class on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023. Most school districts will observe MLK Day, Jan. 16, with a day off for students and staff.
Events set at Senior Citizen Center
The Sulphur Springs Senior Citizen Center will host a Valentine's Day Party, Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 11 a.m. which will feature food, games and entertainment, sponsored by Embark Care.
Also coming up is Dealer's Choice Poker (Just for fun) on Friday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. The Senior Citizens Center is located at 150 Martin Luther King Jr., Drive in Sulphur Springs.
