Mother’s Culture Club is planning a magical evening filled with fairies and butterflies at its 11th annual Father-Daughter Dance.

The event is the largest fundraiser for the service club. Funds raised will go to help Hopkins County children in need.

In previous years, the Mother’s Culture Club has supported CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) and other child-focused organizations.

“We’ve also donated to help a specific family in need,” said event committee member Leslie Northcutt. “We usually disburse funds in April.”

Daughters of all ages are welcome, and “father” includes stepfathers, grandfathers and other adult relatives who might wish to accompany their “little princess.”

This year, tickets are available online at www.eventbrite.com/e/mothers-culture-clubfather-daughter-dance-2020-tickets-88155309905. Tickets will be available through Friday, Jan. 31, and buying tickets ahead of time is preferred. Tickets are $30 for dad, and the price includes attendance for him and all daughters, a photo booth, refreshments and a professional photo from Rock Star and Company.

Door prizes and “fairy treatments,” including face-painting and face jewelry (stick-on) will also be available.

Northcutt said this year, attendance at the dance will be split into two groups. Daughters in first grade or younger (and their dads) will have their dance 4-6 p.m. Girls in second grade and above will have their dance 7-9 p.m. Fathers who have multiple daughters in both age groups may choose which session they would like to attend.

Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the dance, and there will be prizes for dads and for daughters.

The dads’ raffle prize is a Savage AXIS XP .270 Winchester bolt-action rifle. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20.

The daughters’ raffle prize package will include fairy costumes and accessories and a doll package, both including accessories. Child raffle tickets are $1 each.

The dance will be held Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center in Sulphur Springs.

“It will be a magical dad/ daughter experience where you can spend time together making incredible memories,” Northcutt said.

Mother’s Culture Club was established in Hopkins County in 1929 for the mutual improvement of members’ children, selves and their homes.

Fundraisers have included bake sales, golf tournaments, charity auctions, father-daughter dances, cookbook sales, a Four Square tournament and other events. Funds raised are donated each year to local Hopkins County children in need and child-related charities.
