More COVID cases reported on campuses

A staff member of Sulphur Springs Independent School District is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19, according to a release from the district Monday. The individual was on SSISD campuses the week of Sept. 14.

This brings the number of cases of COVID-19 at SSISD to five adults and nine students for a total of 14 cases.

SSISD has previously announced two students at Sulphur Springs Middle School, one student at Douglass ECLC, three students at Sulphur Springs High School, a bus driver, one student at Travis Primary, one teacher at Sulphur Springs Elementary School, two students at Bowie Primary and two teachers at SSMS.

North Hopkins Independent School District officials notified parents and families that a student has been lab-confirmed with COVID-19, as of Thursday. The student was last on North Hopkins High School campus Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The district announced Sept. 15 an employee who was lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 and last present in NHISD Thursday, Sept. 10.

This brings the lab-confirmed COVID-19 case count at NHISD to one student and one employee, for a total of two cases since school began for the 2020-2021 school year.

Due to privacy requirements, the districts will not be releasing the names of the individuals or details that may identify them.
