MILLER GROVE — Miller Grove ISD school board discussed updates to their track and field project and using effluent water for keeping lawns green at their Oct. 21 regular meeting, among other items.

After calling the meeting to order at 6 p.m., no visitors were present for the public forum. The board unanimously passed the Sept. 16 regular meeting agenda.

There was no journal voucher at the present time, although Superintendent Steve Johnson stated the item will remain open in case a journal voucher is incoming for the remainder of the month of October.

The board then voted unanimously to move the November board meeting from Nov. 18 to Nov. 19 in order to give sufficient time to sell bonds.

Johnson gave the superintendent’s report. He stated the new track is “almost done” but was “being held up by weather.” The color of the track, according to Johnson, will be “hornet green.”

Johnson also discussed using aerobic water to irrigate athletic fields.

“If they’re not being used, it seems like an awful waste of water when we need to keep things green,” he said.

Johnson also notified the board of the annual board training on Nov. 4 and subsequent dinner.

There was no athletic director report, nor was there a principal’s report. The board did not voice concerns during the board concerns portion of the meeting, and the meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:01 p.m.
