SULPHUR BLUFF — Sulphur Bluff Masonic Lodge #246 presented to North Hopkins first graders the “Fantastic Teeth Program” Tuesday and received free packets with information on how to prevent tooth decay and other dental health needs.

This program is for all first graders throughout Texas and is put on by the Grand Lodge of Texas. Of the 574 Lodges that participated this year, the program was presented at 1,412 schools and handed out a total of 100,472 packets. To date, the Lodges of Texas have distributed a million packets.

The Fantastic Teeth Program started 10 years ago, created by Masonic Home and School of Texas (MHS) to help children and parents learn to prevent painful dental problems and avoid expensive treatment, according the organization's website. Children across Texas have received free prevent tooth decay kits. Lodge members assemble the kits and deliver them to participating schools. MHS provides 300 free kits per Lodge for first graders in communities through the state. The kits are provided at no charge through MHS’s Fantastic Teeth Fan Club.
