Man arrested on disorderly conduct

A 51-year-old Cumby man was arrested at 10:08 p.m. at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Deputies reportedly received a call at 5:21 p.m. from a County Road 1136 residence regarding an intoxicated person making threats against people. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with the man, who allegedly stated he wanted to harm himself and others. He was transported to the hospital for medical clearance.

While at the hospital, the man reportedly became combative with the hospital staff. He allegedly screamed very loudly using profanity and stated he was going to kill hospital staff members.

He was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct. Arrest reports note he was very combative and resisted deputies and officers multiple times at the jail. No bond was set as of press time Friday, and the man remained in jail, according to reports.
