A 20-year-old driver of a 2013 Honda Civic appeared to be nervous, the Hopkins County Sheriff ’s deputy who pulled him over reported. The Pegram, Ohio man was stopped on Interstate 30 just before 3 p.m. Thursday for allegedly not having a working license plate light.

The deputy alleges in the report the man “appeared to frantically search for his driver’s license and play with his thumbs.” The man allegedly denied having anything illegal in the car when asked and gave consent for a search.

“The consent search of the vehicle yielded a green like substance inside of clear capsules believed to be mushrooms, edible brownies, a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and two fake driver’s licenses,” the deputy alleges in the report.

The deputy reported further that the man admitted to the identification of the contraband as the deputy described.

The man was arrested on two charges of possession of controlled substances, more than 4 but less than 200 grams and more than 200 but less than 400 grams, one charge of possession of marijuana, more than 400 grams but less than 5 pounds, and one charge of fraudulent use or possession of identifying information. He was taken to Hopkins County Jail, and the Honda was impounded. No bond was set on any of the charges.
