Stuffs meth into sock, police say

Body

A 21-year-old Samoan man was arrested Sunday after allegedly throwing a meth pipe at Sulphur Springs Police’s Officer Adrian Pruitt, according to police reports.

At approximately 4:56 p.m. on Sunday, SSPD was dispatched to the 1500 block of Industrial Drive for a disturbance, according to reports. At that time, officers believed 21-year-old Sami Sami Jr. was a threat of further violence to his family and attempted to take him into custody, reports read.

Sami allegedly advised officers he was leaving but instead walked around the rear of the complex to a maintenance shop, reports read, where police followed the man. Sami then allegedly threw a pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine at Officer Pruitt, reports read.

Officers also allegedly observed Sami stuff an unknown substance into his sock, which he reportedly later admitted was methamphetamine, reports read. Officer Pruitt allegedly retrieved the baggie from Sami’s sock, which contained suspected crystal methamphetamine.

Sami was booked into jail on charges of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance less than 1 gram. He remains in jail on $20,000 worth of bonds, according to records.
