Miller Grove, Arbala, Brinker prepared for disaster

Body

This past weekend, Arbala (Station 17), Brinker (Station 12) and Miller Grove (Station 13) joined for live fire structural training on a simulation court.

Live fire trainings are a part of something called Insurance Services Office (ISO), which calculate how well-equipped fire departments are to put out fires in their communities. For each department to maintain their ISO ratings, live fire training is mandatory.

"Our departments are  working together to better the fire service in our districts and Hopkins County," said Station 17 chief Brian Fairchild. "This county is booming in huge multi story homes and businesses."

According to the stations, key training is crucial to maintaining a well-educated fire service that saves lives and property.

"These are the firefighters that will be successful and pass on everything they have learned years later," Fairchild said.
