First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs is sponsoring two trips in 2020. One will be to Germany and the other to North Carolina.
An informational meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at The ROC, 115 Putman St. in Sulphur Springs. All churches and community are invited to attend.
The Germany and Austria trip will begin July 14 for nine days. It will include the Oberammergau Passion Play. In 1633, the residents of Oberammergau vowed that if God would spare them from the bubonic plague that was ravaging the region, they would produce a play for all time, every 10 years, depicting the life and death of Jesus. The first play was presented in 1634. This will be the 42nd passion play in Oberammergau.
There will also be three nights in Vienna, two night in Munich and additional highlights.
The second trip will be Oct. 19-24 to Charlotte and Asheville, North Carolina. This will include the Billy Graham Museum and Library in Carhlotte and the Biltmore Gardens and Estate in Asheville, as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Smokey Mountains Train Ride and other activities.
