Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office investigators have arrested one person in connection with stolen equipment recovered at a property on County Road 3502 around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

The items—a box trailer and new auto parts still in manufacturers’ boxes—were reportedly stolen in Dallas last weekend and located Thursday morning hidden behind a barn on the property in Hopkins County.

“This is our third trip to the [CR3502] property to recover stolen property,” Hopkins County Sheriff Lewis Tatum said. “The suspects made an attempt to camouflage the trailer so our drones couldn’t see it.”

The camouflage attempt included spray painting the exterior of the trailer and covering it with old boards and debris.

Tatum said the value of the auto parts is estimated at $18,000, and the trailer is valued at approximately $4,000.

One suspect is in custody, and investigators are looking for one more person. The name of the person in custody has not yet been released.

The auto theft division of the Paris Police Department assisted Hopkins County in the investigation.
