We want to express our sympathy to the family of Shirley Goodson. She was buried in the Tira Cemetery on Sept. 21. Please remember this family in prayer.

Chip and I met our daughter and granddaughter, Tiffany Gilbert and Jaidyn Joslin, in Texarkana on Friday evening and enjoyed a meal together at Red Lobster.

Jaidyn came back with us and spent Friday night and Saturday with her friends, Maygan and Bella, and their family. She spent Saturday night with her dad, Malcolm Joslin. They joined us for lunch on Sunday, and Jaidyn and her nephews, Rylan, Brailon and Slaiden Joslin enjoyed playing outside for a while before Jaidyn returned to Arkansas later that day.

I guess not much is going on in our community. I didn’t receive any other reports this week.

The annual North Hopkins School Alumni Homecoming is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 in the North Hopkins School cafeteria. The classes of 1969, 1979 and 1989 will be honored for their 50-, 40- and 30-year reunions.

The event will begin with a tour of the facilities to see the changes that have been made to enhance the education of the students. A catered dinner by Birth-Wright BBQ will be served at 6 p.m. at a cost of $12.50 per plate. A program and dance will follow the meal. All former students and staff are encouraged to attend. Please help us spread the word.
