A Hero’s Welcome

Marine Corporal Dakota Miller surprised his 8-year-old sister, Isabella Corwell, when he walked into her second grade classroom at Barbara Bush Primary School Friday afternoon. He was given a hero’s welcome when he arrived at the school, as students and staff waved American flags and cheered him on.

In the second photo, campus security officer DeeDee Self escorts Miller to his sister’s classroom. Miller is stationed in California at Camp Pendleton following a two-year deployment to Okinawa and one month in the Philippines. He joined the United States Marine Corps after graduating from Rains High School in 2015.
