The Hopkins County Genealogical Society has started a new program called “Lunch & Learn.”

The group’s first Lunch & Learn was held Wednesday, Jan. 24.

“It was a huge success!” said members.

The speaker was HCGS Librarian Jan Stovall who talked about the many Hidden Gems on the HCGS website that are useful for research.

The next Lunch & Learn will be on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at noon. (This is a time change from the first one, as several mentioned that noon would work better for them.)

John Sellers will be speaking on Hidden Gems in Our Library. Sellers will be pulling out resources from throughout the library to share.

HCGS Lunch & Learn meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month, unless otherwise notified. Attendees are invited to bring a sack lunch, salad or drive-through meal to enjoy while hearing a program designed to teach more about how to do genealogical research. The library is closed for research on Wednesdays, so that day is one for fellowship, education and sharing of ideas. Everyone is invited you to come and bring others who want to learn.
