Want to learn more about your family history, but don’t know where to start? The Hopkins County Genealogical Society has started a new program called “Lunch & Learn” which meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at noon, unless otherwise specified.

Attendees are invited to bring a sack lunch, salad or drive-through meal to enjoy while hearing a program designed to help them learn more about how to do genealogical research. The library is closed for regular research on Wednesdays, so attendees can take advantage of that day for a time of education and sharing of ideas, according to Genealogical Society member CarolAnn Dixon.

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, Sulphur Springs mayor and local historian John Sellers will be the speaker at Lunch & Learn. Sellers will discuss library resources, what is unique to the HCGS collection and how to use knowledge when exploring other libraries. Sellers will also discuss books, microfilm, maps and archives.

Please bring a lunch and join HCGS for this informative lecture. Coffee and tea will be provided.
