Court to recognize cross country teams, approve VFD agreement

The Hopkins County Commissioners Court will meet Monday, Dec. 9 at 9 a.m. in the first floor courtroom of the Hopkins County Courthouse.
During the regular session, the court will recognize the Saltillo ISD boys cross country team, as well as the boys' and girls' cross country teams from Miller Grove ISD, and athletes Jorja Bessonett and Isaiah Billingsley.
The court will consider and approve a request from Farmers Electric Cooperative, Inc. to construct electrical power distribution facilities which will cross County Road 1165, 750 feet southeast of State Highway 19 in Pct. 1.
The court will announce the cessation of public trash dumpsters at all county barns effective Feb.1, 2020.
Commissioners are expected to consider and approve the 2019 Fire Protection Agreement with the volunteer fire departments. They will also consider and approve the 2019 resolutions and agreements regarding the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant projects.
Also on the agenda for court approval are previous meeting minutes; budget amendments and line item transfers; payment of bills, revenues, expenses, payroll and financial statements; monthly reports from county offices; any other grants or donations presented; personnel matters; disposal of assets requests; and any contracts, resolutions or proclamations presented.
