Those in Sulphur Springs and surrounding communities may have experienced a phone outage between 4 and 11:15 p.m. on Monday Aug. 5, according to a statement by Frontier Communications.

At or around 4 p.m., 911 dispatchers signaled that transferring responders to certain phone numbers would not be possible. Furthermore, responders gave alternate phone numbers for dispatch to make contact.

The outage was due to fiber cable damage, according to Frontier. According to city manager Marc Maxwell, the damage may have occurred at or near Caddo Mills.
