The first monthly Parkinson’s Support Group was held Tuesday, at the Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center. The group learned about Parkinson’s and how to cope with the disease. Rebekah Aulbaugh and Dawn Looney with Rehab Solutions gave several demonstrations on the kinds of therapy and exercises people with Parkinson’s should do to help them with their daily tasks. Jennifer Scroggins with Angel’s Care Home Health passed out information about their Parkinson’s Management Program and to provide Coke floats for everyone. There will be a different topic and speaker every month to the Parkinson’s Support Group, which meets at the Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center, 150 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, on the third Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. For questions or more information, contact Karon Weatherman at 903-885-1661.
