Fire takes trailer home near Cumby

At approximately 10:47 a.m. on Monday, a caller to 911 dispatch reported "black smoke over the treeline" near FM 275 and CR 4728. Stations 20 (County), 13 (Miller Grove), 11 (Cumby) and 17 (Arbala) responded to the call. 

At approximately 11:08 a.m., the call was upgraded to a structure fire. According to Arbala VFD, the structure was "a camper someone was living in," although no residents were hurt in the blaze. 

"It was pretty much a total loss when they arrived," said Christy Fairchild, Arbala volunteer firefighter. 

The call was cleared at approximately 11:45 a.m.
