Fire destroys 5 acres

A fire at County Road 2426 and Farm Road 269 south destroyed as much as 5 acres of grassland. Twelve 911 calls were placed about the fire, according to Hopkins County dispatch. Crews battled the blaze 1:22-2:55 p.m. before extinguishing it.
