Felon arrested on charge of possession of firearm

A firearm was allegedly found during a consent search of a 2002 Cadillac Escalade that was reportedly pulled over for lack of a failing license plate light. A 48-year-old woman who was a passenger allegedly claimed ownership and was reported to be a felon.

After being placed into custody, deputies alleged in their report that she began making “furtive movements” at her waistband and “stated more than once she was going to kill herself, and she had something to do it with,” the report read. Deputies claimed in the

Deputies claimed in the report that she attempted to “discard a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine” when she was taken out of the patrol unit.

The substance allegedly field-tested positive for meth and weighed 1 gram.

The driver of the Cadillac, a 50-year-old Lone Oak man, “was found to have a marijuana cigarette,” deputies reported.

The woman was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram but more than 4 grams, and the man was arrested on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
