COMO—Hopkins County Sheriff ’s deputies responded to a complaint of a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox that was being operated on the wrong side of the road late Friday to find the reported vehicle parked in the road in front of Joe Bob’s in Como. The arresting deputy alleged in his report the 40-year-old Alexander, Ark. man who appeared to be the driver was asleep at the wheel.

The man, according to the arrest report, stated “he was headed to see his girl in an unknown Texas city” and “was very avoiding” of questions the deputy asked.

During an alleged consent search of the vehicle, the man reportedly admitted “to having narcotics in his pocket. I removed a small, black vial with a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine,” the deputy stated in his report. Additionally, “inside the vehicle, deputies located a loaded hypodermic syringe with what [the man] admitted to be loaded with meth and his blood. Deputies also located two clear vials containing a clear liquid that tested positive for methamphetamine,” the report read.

The man was also allegedly found to have an active Arkansas warrant for violation of parole. He was arrested on the warrant and on the charge of possession of a controlled substance, more than 4 but less than 200 grams. No bond was set on the warrant.
