Crime rose in Sulphur Springs by 20% for a total of 222 crimes recorded by Sulphur Springs Police in the seven major crime categories in 2015. That is 37 more crimes last year than in 2014, when the rate dropped 12% from 211 crimes in 2013 to 185 crimes recorded

Local favorite Slaughter’s BBQ Oasis was featured on a food segment of WFAA’s News 8 Daybreak show. Their smoked jalapeño popper chicken earned a spot on Fort Worth food critic Trey Chapman’s list of 25 best chicken dishes in North Texas and then made the short list of Chapman’s top five best.
