Mount Vernon Music’s annual Gala fundraiser returns to MVM Hall with an Equinox Block Party to kick off their 14th season. The public is invited to savor the tastes and sounds of New Orleans with the energetic music of the Razzmajazz Dixieland jazz band and catered dinner by Chef Cristal Castillo.

Well-stocked beverage stations will assure that no one is thirsty, and there will be an expertly guided Scotch whiskey tasting. Participants in a silent auction to benefit MVM’s Youth Outreach and Scholarship programs will enjoy the convenience of online bidding, and attendees can enter a drawing to win a new pair of noise canceling headphones.

Ticketholders are invited to meet and mingle with appetizers and champagne at 6-7 p.m. Admission is $50. Tickets and auction information can be found at www.mountvernonmusic.org/gala-2019/ or by calling the MVM office at 903-563-3780‬. Seating is limited, so interested parties are encouraged to purchase advance tickets.

The gala takes place Saturday, Sept. 21.

Memberships in MVM start at $25 and support all the organization’s work, including scholarships for young musicians and outreach work for schools and seniors. Memberships are good for the year June 1-May 31, and members receive ticket pricing discounts. Details can be found at MVM’s website, www.mountvernonmusic.org.
