Cumby woman arrested for alleged assault

A Cumby woman was arrested on charges of assault/ family violence after allegedly striking a male house member, according to police reports. 

Alexis Lynn Cunningham, 25, of Cumby was taken into custody by Cumby police at approximately 8:52 p.m. on Thursday after police received a call regarding a disturbance in the 200 block of Depot Street, according to reports. 

Cunningham allegedly told police she had been in an argument with the male house member, and the male house member allegedly told police Cunningham struck him with a closed fist on the side of the head, the report stated. 

The male house member allegedly had bruising and abrasions that confirmed his story, according to police, so Cunningham was taken into custody, police said. 

Cunningham was taken to jail and released the same day, according to records.
