Cumby residents are encouraged to deck the halls this holiday season, as the Black Jack Grove Daughters host a holiday home decorating contest leading up to Christmas in the Park on Dec. 12.
The contest is for all Cumby residents, and the winner with the best-decorated home will receive a yard sign to keep up for the remainder of the holiday season, according to member Mary Ugalde.
Cumby revived its Christmas in the Park event in 2014, after nearly 30 years without the event, according to the Greenville Herald Banner. Now in 2019, the event has been going strong for 5 years, and the Black Jack Grove daughters want to add to the merriment with a decorating contest.
Black Jack Grove Daughters “hope that it will encourage everyone to decorate and get in the spirit,” Ugalde said.
