“To say right now is hard for restaurant owners and their staff is a huge understatement.

“While mom was upstairs praying over our business that we would simply be able to cover payroll for the week, I was downstairs taking an order for a family traveling through. We made their order and sent them on their way with a smile and a sincere thank-you for coming in.

“One of them commented on our smiles in a time like this. I responded with a canned, “Oh, we're going to make it through this,” while in my head screaming for the phones to ring. They left and I moved on.

“In about an hour the man walked back through the door, and I froze, assuming we had somehow messed up their order. Immediately, I start trying to fix the problem.

“He kindly said, “Everything was great. We are back because my wife and I want to help,” as he slid an envelope across the counter. I stood there in shock, trying to give it back. He simply looked me in the eye, smiled and left.

“With tears in my eyes, I opened the envelope and found exactly what we needed to cover payroll.

“Since then, we are now acutely aware of the generosity shown by our SS community, going out of their way to support all local businesses. On behalf of all business owners we say thank you! You guys are living proof we are in this together!”
